The Queen's Gambit
I grew up playing chess and was genuinely surprised to learn not everyone knows how to play.
For this title sequence and poster, I challenged myself to represent the game without showing the pieces. Instead, I focused on the board and strategy and almost infinite possibilities that emerge from it.
Chess is deeply mathematical, sharp and elegant. I used abstract forms, bold contrasts, and architectural compositions to capture the feeling of calculation.
